Enjoying Camping More

After a few terrible family camping trips, I realized that I needed to step my game up if I was going to have fun on our outings. Instead of heading into the great outdoors with the bare essentials, I invested in a better sleeping bag and food that was made to be easy to cook. It made a huge difference. My family enjoyed better meals, a warmer night's sleep, and even a larger, more stable fire that evening. This blog is all about making camping more enjoyable--especially if you aren't a seasoned camper yourself. Read here to learn how to make your next camping experience the best ever.

Know What To Wear When You Are On A River Rafting Trip

If you are looking for new and exciting things to try on a family vacation, you may decide that going river rafting is a great idea. If you are going to go river rafting, it's a good idea to be prepared ahead of time. Knowing what to wear when you are out on the river will make your trip more exciting and enjoyable.

Watch Out For the Sun

No one is going to have fun if they end up with a sunburn. So, you want to make sure that you take every protection, especially since the water can reflect the sun back up towards you, which will increase the amount of sun you get. Make sure that you pack some high SPF sunblock. Look for a sports formulation as those tend to be waterproof. Not only are you going to want to have sunblock, you are also going to want to make sure that you have a hat and sunglasses for everyone going. The hat will do double-duty as a way to keep your head and face from burning also help shade your eyes. The reflection of the sun on the water can be very bright and make it quite hard to see, which is why you also need to have sunglasses.

Wear the Right Clothes

You may be tempted to wear nothing but a swimsuit when you are out on your river rafting trip. After all, you are going to get wet, and that's what swimsuits are for. However, wearing nothing but your swimsuit is not a good idea. Yes, you are going to get wet, but if you fall out of the raft, you have a really good chance of encountering some rocks or other debris in the water. The more clothes you wear, the less likely you are to get hurt by anything like that. But you don't want to wear long sleeves and pants either. The best idea is to wear lightweight, comfortable shorts and t-shirts. You should also wear sandals or water shoes. Those things will keep you protected if you fall in the water, but not be so heavy that they weigh you down.

Going river rafting can be a lot of fun. Making sure that you are prepared before you go will help to make sure that you have a fun trip that will provide a lot of memories in later years.
